Officials from the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, have begrudgingly made the difficult decision to cancel the inaugural Eiffel Tower Classic presented by RaceOnTexas. Slated for this weekend, February 8-11, with a possible $10,000 up for grabs for the USRA Stock Car winner, the event is washed out due to already saturated grounds and more rain and low temperatures forecasted for this weekend.
"For those of you that pre-entered, you will be receiving a full refund shorty," said promoter Kevin Sustaire. "Thanks again to everyone that has helped push this event and know that we absolutely hated canceling it."
Although this year's inaugural event will not be rescheduled, competitors and fans alike are encouraged to mark your calendars for January 31 through February 3, 2024, for the next Eiffel Tower Classic, with a rain date of February 7-10, 2024, sustaire added.
Up next at the Rocket Raceway Park is the season-opening event for the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by RacinDirt. The baddest Modifieds in the galaxy will light the fuse with the 13th Annual Summit Spring Nationals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 2-4.
