Technical Bulletin - USRA Limited Mods

August 2, 2022

TECHNICAL BULLETIN
August 2, 2022

A rules amendment has been made in the USRA Limited Mod division for drivers competing in the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series.

In 2022, the USRA introduced the option of a quick-change rear-end and/or the use of an aftermarket racing transmission. In an effort to not have these options be an advantage, weight was added to any USRA Limited Mod using one or both of these options. Particularly, if the transmission option was utilized the driver was required to add an additional 50 pounds to the front of the car.

After some testing this season, USRA officials have concluded that the added 50 pounds is too much of a disadvantage.

“We do not want to have these options be an advantage over the stock transmission,” said USRA Technical Director Darlo Mulder. “However, if it is a noticeable disadvantage then the racers will not exercise this option.

“Effective immediately, the additional 50 pounds will no longer be required for the aftermarket transmission option. Any car utilizing any of the options available will be required to weigh the normal 2,500 pounds.

“Thank you for supporting the USRA and we hope the rest of your season is fun, safe and successful.”
